With a professional background in law and legal affairs, Cecile Huberts' international career in the entertainment industry began 23 years ago when she joined MeesPierson Communications, the talent management and entertainment division of merchant and private bank MeesPierson (now ABN AMRO), which later became Fintage House. In 2001 Cecile left to become a co-founder of a new venture, the Freeway Entertainment Group, with a team of just five.

“We started out small in a challenging climate, and looking back, I’m hugely proud at how far we have come and how we have grown as a company that now has a large team of executives.” Cecile describes her role as “a business developer dedicated to acquiring and distributing the very best products out there.”

Cecile speaks Dutch, English, French, German and a little Hungarian, and is a fan of the ‘thriller’ genre – with The Killing ranking highly on her favourites list. A fan of Steven Spielberg and Angelina Jolie, Cecile is also addicted to thrillers in the vein of Gomorrah, Homeland and House of Cards. On the rare occasions that she is not working, Cecile can be found on the ski slopes or immersed in a book.

Cecile says, “I love working in such a creative business that brings me into contact with such talented people from all around the globe. It’s fantastic to be a part of the journey of film, TV and creative content that is enjoyed by audiences the world over.”

Freeway Entertainment Group specialises in collection account management, licensing and distribution for a range of rights holders, including producers, sales agents, distributors, completion guarantors and financiers across the global entertainment sector. With offices in the UK, Spain, Hungary and The Netherlands, and representative offices in France, Germany and the USA, Freeway has been involved international transaction management for thousands of films across North American, European, Australasian and Latin American territories.
